Cafe Intermezzo on Urbanspoon

In Atlanta, one of my favorite places to visit especially during the colder months is Café Intermezzo.  I have been in Atlanta for a while, so I remember when Café Intermezzo, which was located on Peachtree Street in Buckhead, was the go-to spot.  I loved the location, but the only issue I had was that the space inside was so small, and it made it difficult to move around because the restaurant would get so packed.

Now, Café Intermezzo has a new location, and it’s in Midtown Atlanta, next door to the Loews Hotel.  The new location remains true to its European coffeehouse theme.  Since there is much more ample space at the new location, the art and decór is even more amazing.  Café Intermezzo has always given their patrons the sense of dining in such an authentic coffeehouse.

From the vintage decór to the classical music playing, this restaurant is perfect for a date night.  Café Intermezzo is open late which is another reason why I love this establishment so much.  Their food menu is very unique, and their drink menu is mammoth.

There is a range of filling appetizers such as Seafood Dip which is a dip that has shrimp, scallops, and crab with parmesan and cream cheese, roasted red, cayenne and black peppers served with crackers and/or bread.  Another must-try is their Goat Cheese Medallions which is
breaded herb goat cheese baked golden brown, and served with roasted red pepper coulis.

The restaurant also has an impressive crêpe selection.  My favorite has to be the Duck Crêpe with fig jam, duck, slow-cooked with sweet onions, and soft goat cheese.  Also try the Chicken Florentine Crêpe, made from local, all-natural chicken with sautéed spinach, onions, and mushrooms in an herb cream sauce, topped with creamy hollandaise.  And you can never go wrong with their Seafood Crêpe which is filled with shrimp, crab meat, and mushrooms with green onions in crème sauce.  These yummy dishes need to be added to your must-try list for your tastebuds.

Their entrees range from salmon pasta to chicken caesar salad, and the portions are a great size, so don’t be surprised if you need a to-go box.  But don’t leave just yet.  Café Intermezzo has over 100 different tortes, tarts, cakes, pies, and cheesecakes.  You may want to top off a slice with a coffee, or the many other beverages that they have to choose from.

Café Intermezzo serves breakfast all day  long which means you have the option of omelettes, French toast with warm syrup, croissant sandwiches, and a plethora of other dishes to choose from.

Now, back to the drink menu, or what they call the Beverage Book.  It’s like none other.  With over 400 drinks on the menu to choose from — I told you that it was mammoth — I call their Beverage Book, the Drink Bible.  Their Beverage Book has everything from peppermint hot chocolate to a wide-range of coffees, lattes,  wines, and cocktails.

The service at Café Intermezzo is awesome.  I haven’t had a negative experience yet, and I visit pretty often.

Free parking for two hours is available in the parking deck of 1075 Peachtree with entrances on both 11th and 12th Street.  Don’t forget to ask your server for a validation ticket.

If you visit Atlanta, make sure you stop by Café Intermezzo.  It is definitely a must-try, and you will not be disappointed.
